CMS/SHS Ski and Snowboard Club Information

This winter CMS and SHS are offering a ski and snowboard club open to students of  all levels. The Club aims to provide students with an opportunity to engage in an outdoor winter activity that fosters physical fitness, teamwork and personal growth and fun! Skiing and snowboarding promotes a healthy lifestyle, builds confidence, improves your overall emotional well being and allows students to appreciate nature and the environment where they live. 

By participating in  this program students will build valuable skills including, but not limited to: decision making, communication, time management, growth mindset, responsibility, map reading and social development. 

        

                          Registration Information

This program has a limited number of spaces and is first come first serve! The permission form must be returned by 11/25/25  to Sarah Ferland at CMS or Kyle Wilson at SHS. Students can get the permission form from Sarah Ferland or Kyle Wilson if interested!


Some financial assistance may be available to students. If you need financial assistance please indicate this on the permission form. (Please note financial aid is not guaranteed.)

Program Details 

Mt Sunapee will provide  instruction for all levels of students. Their pricing structure has changed for the upcoming season. The 5 week program will begin January and run on the dates listed below. Schools will be offered the same session day (Wednesday) and time from last season and once day and time is finalized with Mount Sunapee, each school will be given a link for parents to go online and purchase their program online. Release of Liabilities will be signed electronically and those students in need of rentals will have the opportunity to stop in the Adventure Center for a fitting during the time span listed below. 

 



 Program Details:


1.Eligibility: 

  • Open to all middle school students and high school students  (hopefully grant or financial assistance) with varying skill levels.

  • Must be in good academic standing and not have any major behavioral infractions.

  • No prior experience required


2.Duration:

  • The program will run the following dates: Wednesday: 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4 (makeup dates 2/11 or 3/4)

  • Each trip will last 4.25 hours 


3.Itinerary:

  • Bus arrives at CMS 8:30

  • Bus arrives at Sunapee at 9:00

  • Students get ready for lesson 9:00-9:30

  • Lesson 9:30-11:00

  • Free Ski: 11:00-11:45

  • Lunch: 11:45-12:15

  • Bus leaves 12:15

  • Back at school 12:45


4.Transportation: 

  • Buses will be arranged to transport students to and from Sunapee 

  • Students are expected to arrive at school or designated spot on time.

  • All personal ski/snowboard equipment MUST be labeled!! Skis, poles, boots cannot be transported in the bus and must be transported by a staff member! Some students have the same type of equipment and it becomes very difficult to get ready on time if its not labeled.


5.Equipment:

  • Ski equipment (skis, poles, boots, helmets) can be rented from the ski resort or students can use their own equipment.


6.Lessons:

  • Certified ski instructors will provide group lessons by skill level

  • Lessons will cover basic skiing and snowboarding techniques, safety practices, and etiquette on the slopes

  • A certified first aid team will be available at all times.

  • Clear guidelines on behavior and safety will be communicated to students and parents prior to the program

  • A member of the CMS staff will chaperone 


7. Cost:

  • five lessons: $175.00

  • Lift ticket for freeski: $55.00

  • Rentals from ski resort: $99.00

  • Total: 329.00


  • December 8th Completed Roster and participant registration completed.

  • Rental Fitting: November 25th – December 31st.
